Novorossiysk Grain Terminal wins best stevedoring company in Russia

Novorossiysk Grain Terminal (part of Demetra-Holding, hereinafter NGT) won an industry competition. NGT was awarded a diploma in the Breakthrough of the Year nomination in the annual Best Stevedoring Company competition organised by the Association of Commercial Seaports. The competition committee created a separate nomination, which honoured NGT for more than doubling its 2020 cargo throughput (204%).

NGT was awarded a separate diploma by the Federal Agency for Maritime and River Transport in the Best Marine Stevedoring Company nomination.

The official award ceremony took place in St. Petersburg at the traditional session of the General Meeting (34th Conference) of the Association of Commercial Seaports. When receiving the award, Vladislav Zhukov, General Director of NGT LLC, said:

'Despite the global economic trends of last year, NGT performed remarkably well. In 2020, we upgraded and replaced the conveyor equipment and motor vehicle grain unloading facilities. The result is a more than 50% increase in motor vehicle unloading capacity. We are currently working on a project to build the second line of the terminal. This envisages the creation of a complete grain transshipment process chain within both the onshore and offshore parts of our facility.'

The industry competition has been held by ASOP since 2005. The purpose of this competition is to identify Russia's best-performing stevedoring companies and share their experience with other stevedoring companies in Russia.
