Novorossiysk Grain Terminal (NGT), a member of Demetra-Holding, hit all-time highs in transshipment of agricultural cargo for exports, vessel loading and truck handling by the end of 2024.
In 2024, NGT transshipped 7.2 mln tons of agricultural cargo compared to 6.6 mln tons in 2023, up 9% or 614 thousand tons from last year. This outstanding performance was achieved due to comprehensive investments in equipment upgrade and optimization of technological processes at all stages of operation.
The terminal expanded the range of handled cargo: in addition to grain crops, NGT transshipped 38 thousand tons of molasses in 2024 and 6 thousand tons of fatty acids starting from November.
Moreover, NGT set all-time highs in vessel loading and truck handling in 2024. Last year, 164 vessels and 116 thousand trucks were processed.
Vladislav Zhukov, Managing Director of NGT:
"We have achieved an all-time transshipment high of 7.2 mln tons, and this is the terminal's top performance at the moment. By the end of 2026, we plan to handle more than 11 mln tons of agricultural cargo per year. This will be feasible due to implementation of a number of investment projects: extra capacities for receiving cargo from trucks and trains will be commissioned, the pier is to be extended and berths are to be built."
