Demetra Trading (a member of Demetra-Holding) implemented a large-scale technological renovation program at its enterprises in various Russian regions to get ready for the new grain season.

The upgrades were carried out at Oktyabrsky silo, Ipatovskiy kombinat khleboproduktov (IKHP) and its own Svetlograd production site in the Stavropol region, Chernyshkovsky elevator in the Volgograd region and Dimitrovgradsky elevator in the Ulyanovsk region.

The aspiration network on the shipping line was successfully renovated at IKHP. The upgraded equipment meets the up-to-date industrial safety standards in full, which provides higher protection for personnel and production processes.

New sampling systems were installed at Svetlograd production site and Oktyabrsky silo. It helped to speed up grain shipping processes and improve efficiency by 15%.

Chernyshkovsky elevator completed the renovation of its truck handling facilities, so processing capacity increased by 1,000 tons per shift. Today, the elevator can handle 40 more grain trucks per shift than before increasing the enterprise’s throughput capacity.

New transshipment capacities were launched at Dimitrovgradsky elevator in March, and now commissioning is in progress as part of preparation for processing new crops.

Roman Kron, Managing Director of Demetra Trading:

“Elevators that will become full-fledged transshipment hubs are needed for further swift development of the Russian agro-industrial complex, and our investment program is aimed at establishing enterprises of this kind. Moreover, investments in equipment contribute to higher quality of customer service, reduced cargo handling time and, in general, improved competitiveness of the company in the grain purchase and supply market.”
