Demetra-Holding significantly increased shipments from its own elevators in July-September 2024 (beginning of the 2024/2025 agricultural season) with new monthly highs in transshipment at its own terminals.
During July-September 2024, the overall transshipment at Demetra-Holding's terminals – Novorossiysk Grain Terminal (NGT) and Taman Grain Terminal Complex (TGTC) – amounted to 3.15 million tons. Demetra-Holdings's terminals held a 21% share in the total transshipment of the Azov-Black Sea basin ports.
- NGT handled 1.65 million tons of agricultural cargo. The terminal handled a record volume of agricultural cargo of 699 thousand tons for August (the previous all-time high in August 2018 was 619 thousand tons).
- Transshipment volumes at TGTC amounted to 1.5 million tons with an all-time monthly high of 654 thousand tons set in August (the previous all-time high of 635 thousand tons was set in May 2024).
3.4 million tons of agricultural cargo were transported by rail during the first three months of the 2024/2025 season, including 2.64 million tons to export land and deep water terminals.
Shipments from our own elevators at the beginning of the season showed an increase from 250 thousand to 300 thousand tons. The increase in shipment volumes also resulted from the acquisition of Svetlograd production site in Svetlograd (included in Ipatovskiy Grain Processing Plant), which can receive up to 1.5 thousand tons of grain per day and ship up to 1.4 thousand tons per day to rail transport, and has simultaneous storage capacity over 4.3 thousand tons.
Demetra-Holding has improved its key performance indicators based on the results of the first nine months of 2024.
Thus, the total transshipment at Demetra-Holding's terminals reached 9.9 million tons showing a 11.2% increase compared to the last year. Transshipment volumes at NGT amounted to 5.4 million tons (+6% year-on-year), at TGTC – 4.5 million tons (+19.4% YoY), and 866 thousand tons of grain (+53%) were shipped from Demetra-Holding’s elevators during the first nine months of 2024.
The volume of agricultural cargo transportation by rail amounted to 11.15 million tons (-6% compared to the last year), including 8.55 million tons for export (-3.5%), with 2.6 million tons transported by road through Smartseeds digital logistics platform (+23.8% compared to the last year).
