Novorossiysk Grain Terminal (NGT, a member of Demetra-Holding) has reequipped one of its berths. The terminal has improved handling of bulk cargo, including various oils, wine materials and molasses, from road to sea transport.
Facilities of berth No. 21 were modernized as part of NGT investment project: scales and a mobile overpass were installed to ensure swift transshipment of bulk cargo from tanker trucks to tankers.
A set of equipment for handling molasses and a heavy-duty truck crane for handling non-hazardous general and oversized cargo was also purchased.
The technological process for unloading bulk and general cargo from rail transport is in the process of modernization now. All related activities are to be completed by the end of 2024.
Vladislav Zhukov, Managing Director of Novorossiysk Grain Terminal:
"Berth No. 21 was originally designed for transshipment of vegetable oil. Last year, we tried handling molasses there using some rented equipment. This experience has come to be a success: clients were satisfied with our services and tariffs, and the market was interested in the new service. That is why we have invested in the development of berthing facilities and are ready to cooperate on a wider range of cargo now. This will allow us to make the maximum use of all available production facilities, as well as diversify our operations."
