Grain Terminal Complex Taman improved grain transshipment efficiency

Taman Grain Terminal Complex (TGTC) has completed the implementation of the main stage of the national Labour Efficiency project, under which the transshipment of grain crops was improved.

As a result, the process lifetime was reduced by 10%, the volume of stocks decreased and output increased. Thus, the company improved the potential capacity for transshipment of agricultural cargo for export and hit an all-time high of 5.7 million tons by the end of 2024.

During the project, TGTC specialists involving the experts from the Regional Center of Excellence analyzed the transshipment process, developed and implemented a number of actions to improve the efficiency.

In particular, the sampler was relocated, which cut the vehicle queuing time at the lab (12 minutes on average for a vehicle earlier). The prompt entry of sample collection data into the system was arranged for at the terminal, and the operation of the lab was optimized.

Sergey Gnatko, General Director of TGTC:

“The dynamic development of a large company is possible subject to competent utilization of available resources only. Lean manufacturing technologies are relevant in agriculture and prove high efficiency not only at our terminal, but in other ports of the country. We plan to upscale the successful experience to other production processes, including equipment repairs, logistics, loading and unloading of vehicles.”

The participants of the national Labour Efficiency project in the Krasnodar region also include Novorossiysk Grain Terminal, which has already improved grain handling from rail transport and reduced the time for unloading railcars by 15%.
