Sergey Emdin, CEO of Demetra-Holding, presented the investment projects that the company is implementing in the region at the meeting with Veniamin Kondratyev, the Governor of Krasnodar Krai. 

Demetra-Holding continues to work on developing and increasing grain storage and transshipment capacity for export in the ports of Novorossiysk and Taman. 

The comprehensive program for the Novorossiysk Grain Terminal (NGT) development until 2025 provides for the terminal's road and rail infrastructure development, as well as the construction of a new device for grain reception from trucks and a grain silo complex. 

The program includes lengthening the existing pier No. 3 in the port of Novorossiysk with the construction of two new deep-sea berths that allow receiving Panamax vessels. For the implementation of this investment project, NGT and Novorossiysk Grain Processing Plant have created the joint venture New Pier. The construction of the new pier and the modernization of the terminal will double the total transshipment capacity.

The company, together with its partners, plans to build an access railway to the grain terminal with a throughput capacity of 14 million tons of grain cargo and vegetable oils per year on the Taman Peninsula. The railway will allow delivering grain from the central regions of Russia, as well as increasing the transshipment capacity of the existing grain terminal to 5 million tons.

In addition, the construction of a new grain terminal in the port of Taman with a capacity of up to 12.5 million tons of grain cargo and meal transshipment, as well as 3 million tons of oils, is being discussed.

'As a result of the implementation of the investment projects at our deep-see terminals, we expect to increase the transshipment capacity by almost 2 times – by 17.4 million tons. The lengthening of the pier, the construction of new berths and new storage facilities and the upgrade of trucks and trains reception system at NGT will increase the throughput capacity by 7 million tons, and the construction of railway tracks and the new terminal in Taman will provide an additional 8.5 million tons. The implementation of our projects will increase the competitiveness and export attractiveness of Russian grain in the global markets.'
