Novorossiysk Grain Terminal (NGT, a member of Demetra-Holding) was visited by the Governor of the Krasnodar region Veniamin Kondratyev and the head of the Novorossiysk city hero municipality Andrey Kravchenko. During the visit, government officials learned about the company's operating activities and inspected facilities under construction as part of a large-scale investment program.

The terminal is implementing a comprehensive development program, which includes the construction of silo facilities, truck and train handling facilities, a pier with two berths (jointly with NGP), and facilities for storage and transportation of vegetable oils.

The majority of scheduled projects are in progress now. Commissioning of silo facilities and truck handling facilities is scheduled for autumn of this year. Pier extension operations are underway, some piles have already been driven in, and construction of the berth will start shortly.

As a result of renovation, the terminal's agricultural cargo handling capacity will increase from 6.5 to 13 mln tons by 2029. NGT will create up to 150 jobs (currently, the terminal’s headcount is around 370 employees).

Vladislav Zhukov, Managing Director of NGT:

“We are definitely navigating towards our goals for the terminal’s development. The implementation of the investment program will increase our production capacity and strengthen the region’s position as the key export hub for Russian grain.”

Veniamin Kondratyev, Governor of the Krasnodar region:

“During the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, we signed a new phase construction agreement with respect to the terminal complex in Novorossiysk. You have already started the operations and are ahead of the schedule. The implementation of such an ambitious project is highly appreciated. The renovated port facilities will boost the transhipment volumes of grain and agricultural cargo making a significant contribution to the economy of the Krasnodar region and Russia, and encouraging us to keep aiming our efforts at the improvement of life quality in the region.”

Andrey Kravchenko, head of Novorossiysk hero city municipality:

“Supporting that kind of large-scale projects is the key to the successful development of our city. The expansion of NGT will not only create new jobs but significantly strengthen the economic potential of Novorossiysk. We see how disruptive technologies and massive investments are reshaping port infrastructure, and believe these have a direct impact on the welfare of city residents.”
