Rusagrotrans (a member of Demetra-Holding) has transported 11.15 million tons of agricultural cargo by rail, including 9.76 million tons of grain crops, for the first nine months of 2024. More than 8.5 million tons of agricultural cargo were shipped to export land and deep water terminals.
The majority of grain and legumes totaling about 6 million tons were delivered towards the Azov-Black Sea basin ports in January-September 2024 and towards the Baltic Sea ports, including the Vysotskiy Port. Shipments to Kazakhstan and Central Asian countries amounted to 613 thousand tons, to Azerbaijan – 176 thousand tons, to China and Mongolia – 86 thousand tons.
Domestic grain shipments amounted to almost 1.6 million tons with most products delivered to plants in the Central and Northwestern regions and in Siberia.
The list of main transported products included the following items:
• Grain and legumes;
• Meal, cake and husk;
• Raw sugar;
• Beet pulp, oilseeds and animal feeds.
Rusagrotrans continues to optimize the cargo routing technology, which helps to significantly reduce delivery time and decrease the cost of transportation due to route-related discounts. In January-September 2024, 49.2 thousand carloads were dispatched along the routes with a total of 31% loaded trip routing.
A route shipment with Rusagrotrans acting as the consignor for the first time ever became the key event. The company dispatched 46 cars with 3.36 thousand tons of wheat from Nikiforovka station (Tambov region) towards Novorossiysk Grain Terminal.
