Novorossiysk Grain Terminal (NGT, a member of Demetra-Holding) exported 33 000 tons of non-hazardous bulk cargo in Q1 2025, up 7.5 times from 4 000 tons during the same period last year.
In 2024, NGT handled 44 000 tons of non-hazardous bulk cargo, including vegetable oils, molasses and fatty acids. The company plans to significantly increase the volumes by the end of 2025 and consider handling other types of non-hazardous bulk cargo.
A significant growth in handling non-hazardous bulk cargo was achieved due to investments in the technical upgrade of one of the berths. Currently, the company has commenced the construction of a stand-alone oil tank farm.
The project is part of a comprehensive development program for Novorossiysk Grain Terminal, which is aimed at improving the efficiency of the company’s production facilities and diversifying its operations.
The terminal development program also includes the Auto1500 project, which involves construction of a silo park and a supplementary truck terminal. Construction is already in its final stages. The New Jetty project is currently getting ready for launch and the Railway 5000 project is being developed.
Vladislav Zhukov, Managing Director of NGT:
“The second half of the current agricultural season has turned out to be tougher for sea terminals than the first one, as declining harvest forecasts also matter. However, this is exactly what enables NGT to diversify its operations and implement projects to optimize and upgrade the production process.”
