Demetra-Holding renovated Dimitrovgradskiy elevator

Dimitrovgradskiy elevator (a member of Demetra-Holding) held a ceremony to launch new transshipment facilities. The project was completed in eight months with RUB 611 million of investments.

The ceremony was attended by the First Deputy Minister of Industry, Investment and Science of the Ulyanovsk region Alexey Tsarev, the Minister of Agro-Industrial Complex and Rural Development Alexey Leushkin, the head of Dimitrovgrad Sergey Sandryukov and the General Director of Demetra-Holding Alexey Gribanov.

As part of the investment project, the following steps were taken at Dimitrovgradskiy elevator:

  • Six silos with a total storage capacity of 17 800 tons were built, the overall storage capacity of the company increased from 82 650 to 100 430 tons.
  • Two grain truck unloading lines were built, the truck acceptance capacity doubled – from 2 400 to 4 800 tons per day.
  • The grain loading line into railcars was renovated, its capacity increased from 3 500 to 4 500 tons per day.

In light of the actions taken, the annual grain transshipment volume will increase from 180 000 to 300 000 tons (+67%). High operational performance will be achieved partly owing to up-to-date technological equipment and automated systems.

The project provides for further development of the facility. Thus, one-time grain storage volume can be additionally increased by 14 000 tons.

Alexey Tsarev, First Deputy Minister of Industry, Investment and Science of the Ulyanovsk Region:

“One of the most important tasks of the Government of the Ulyanovsk region is to develop the favourable investment environment in the region to attract and uptick the presence of large companies with Demetra-Holding among them. Successful implementation of projects such as the renovation of Dimitrovgradskiy elevator means new jobs, tax payments to the budget, as well as a positive example for businesses and improvement of investment prospects of the region.”

Alexey Leushkin, Minister of Agro-Industrial Complex and Rural Development of the Ulyanovsk region:

“The launch of new facilities at Dimitrovgradskiy elevator is an important event for the entire agro-industrial complex of the region. The Ulyanovsk region demonstrates good grain harvesting performance – our farmers set an all-time high of 2.1 million tons in 2022 and are holding this bar high now. Investments in the agro-industrial complex mean contributions to the future of the region, its food security and economic stability.”

Sergey Sandryukov, head of Dimitrovgrad:

“We see how our city has been transformed in recent years – new facilities and, therefore, new opportunities for residents are appearing. The renovation of Dimitrovgradskiy elevator means, first of all, new jobs that will provide stability and confidence in the future for our citizens. The technologies implemented will significantly reduce city traffic congestion. I hope there will be no more hold-ups of grain trucks awaiting unloading. All operations will be carried out quickly and efficiently, which will significantly improve the environmental situation and the comfort of life in Dimitrovgrad.”

Alexey Gribanov, General Director of Demetra-Holding:

“As an infrastructure holding, we are constantly investing in the development of our facilities and assets. Dimitrovgradskiy elevator has a rich history, it is a successfully operating company with a large territory, so we see its great potential. With a successful track record of grain processing and storage, the elevator will become a transshipment terminal and the largest logistics hub in the region to ensure prompt receipt of cargo from motor vehicles and shipment by rail.”
