Demetra-Holding's grain elevators set all-time records for grain shipments

According to the results of the first half of 2023, Ipatovsky Grain Processing Plant (IGPP) and Oktyabrsky Elevator, which are part of Demetra-Holding, shipped record volumes of grain by rail – 154 thousand tons and 132 thousand tons respectively.

The companies have become leaders in terms of shipments in the regions of their presence – IGPP in Stavropol Krai and Oktyabrsky Elevator in Volgograd Region. To date, the grain elevators of Stavropol Krai have shipped a total of 1.3 million tons of grain, and the grain elevators of Volgograd Region – 1.2 million tons of grain.

In total for the 2022/2023 season, IGPP shipped 222 thousand tons of grain, and Oktyabrsky Elevator shipped 310 thousand tons of grain. This exceeds the results of the 2021/2022 season by 1.5 and 2 times respectively.

The grain elevators continue to set records in the new grain season. IGPP received 70 thousand tons of grain in July 2023. By this indicator, the company had held a record of 46 thousand tons since July 2019. In turn, Oktyabrsky Elevator shipped 50 thousand tons in July, also exceeding the previous record (30 thousand tons in June 2023).

Roman Kron, CEO of Demetra Trading:

'The record results of the grain elevators in terms of shipments are primarily due to the launch of route train shipments: for several years we have been preparing the infrastructure of the enterprises for the launch of grain block trains – we have been increasing the length of railway tracks to form route trains. Now, on average, 15 block trains per month are sent from each grain elevator, mostly to the ports of the Azov-Black Sea basin. The second important factor is the uninterrupted supply of wheat from our trading division. Another important component of success is the huge work to optimize business processes at the enterprises.'
