Demetra-Holding won the Russian Railways Partner in Logistics 2024 award in the Partner of the Year – Consignor category. The award ceremony was held as part of the VI transport and logistics conference of the Russian Railways Holding at the Russia Expo.
The company became the best consignor in the agricultural sector and was awarded by Russian Railways JSC for its activities in implementation of joint projects aimed at rail transportation of grain cargoes and developing new services.
Demetra-Holding is one of TOP three largest railway operators in Russia in terms of rolling stock in operation. Route shipments of grain is the key joint project of Russian Railways JSC and Demetra-Holding. This is the most efficient way to deliver cargoes on time and ease off the railway infrastructure in the current circumstances. The railcar turnover in route shipments is almost twice as efficient as for single or group shipments.
In the 2023/2024 agricultural season, 5.7 million tons of agricultural products were transported by single-destination trains, which is 24% more than in 2022/2023 with the total of 4.6 million tons. The share of rail grain export routes of Demetra-Holding amounted to 43%.
Aleksey Gribanov, General Director of Demetra-Holding LLC:
"Over the past few years, Russia has reached a fundamentally new level of gross yield and, accordingly, exports of grain. Considering the congestion of southern routes, effective cargo transportation tools should be introduced and developed. We plan to further increase the number and volume of route shipments. We highly appreciate the support provided by Russian Railways JSC with respect to this matter. Together, we are creating opportunities for the development of the Russian grain market and strengthening the country's export potential."
