Novorossiysk Grain Terminal (NGT, part of Demetra-Holding) signed an agreement with the Federal Competence Centre (FCC) to join the National project “Labour Productivity”. The company will be implementing lean production tools within six months.
The project implementation at NGT will start in October. The company’s employees will be trained in the basics of lean production and the tools necessary for work. The company will be audited to select a ‘pilot stream’ – a production process, which will be improved to increase efficiency and reduce costs. The positive experience will be scaled up to the rest of the terminal’s business processes.

‘Novorossiysk Grain Terminal has long been guided by the principles of lean production and efficiency improvement in its activities. We have recently completed an operational improvement project, including optimizing internal logistics, which has increased the productivity of grain acceptance from trucks by 50%. Participation in the national project will allow us to reach a new level, gaining advanced knowledge and practical skills for the further development of the terminal.’
The goal of the National project “Labour Productivity” is to form a new production culture nationwide. At the moment, more than 5,000 companies across the country have joined it. It is planned that by 2024, the national project will ensure that the growth rate of company productivity will not be lower than 5% per year, and labour productivity will increase by more than 20%.
